Camp with an overnight "El Retiro"
Making a new experience for children out of sport
The City Hall of Madrid along with the district of "El Retiro" contacted Sportmadness for our franchisee to lead the project of social inclusion they had in mind, with children in risk of social exclusion. Nowadays, the district of "El Retiro" has more than 240.000 inhabitants and more of the 25% of them are in risk of social exclusion. An important percentage that was taken into account by Sportmadness in order to accept the project immediately.
Sportmadness threw itself into the project in collaboration with the staff of the City Hall. Its objective was to provide 50 children and teenagers the possibilty to attend a 15 days free camp far from their usual residence. During the camp, the participants could enjoy a unique place surrounded by forest, with a pool and many different activities areas. Thanks to that, they enjoyed alternative sports, nights out and some surprise excursions that made the camp an unforgettable experience. All of it was possible thanks to the specialized monitors and the knowledge of this type of projects by the Sportmadness' franchise.
A project that stands out for the social reintegration of the youngsters. The City Council of Madrid as well as the families were highly satisfied with the good organization of Sportmadness during all the new experience. Proof of it is the interest of the City Council to replicate the same camp the next year by the hand of the Sportmadness franchise. Sportmadness and the City Council of Madrid are still collaborating in several project and they hope to improve the sport quality of the community in the following years
