Night-time hiking route
Combining tourism and sport on the same day
The client
Nowadays, tourism is an economic source in the place where it happens. Despite this, many of the municipalities are currently facing some problems in growing the potential tourist influx. One response to this problem on the part of the municipalities has been the attempt to develop new market niches in order to diversify the offer of the tourism sector, where sports tourism is particularly important.
One of the municipalities that have been committed to sports tourism is Alozaina local council which pushed the organisation of a night-time hiking route in June 2021, in which Juan Rodríguez, Sportmadness franchisee Malaga, participated.
The project
After the first contact between Alozaina local council, Sportmadness, and the different collaborating clubs, the organisation of the event started.
The route took place from 6 pm with an approximate duration of 8 hours during which around 20 kilometres were completed, starting from Puerto Martinez and arriving at Alozaina. During the route, different stops were made at several points of tourist interest in the municipality of Alozaina, just before heading into Sierra Prieta (Prieta mountains).
The route was suitable for everyone and each participant had to have a torch or head torch, along with hiking shoes and suitable clothing.
The results
An unforgettable day in the municipality of Alozaina in which around 100 users participated, enhancing the touristic attractions of the town.
The local council of Alozaina, as well as the collaborating local clubs, were completely satisfied with the work carried out by Sportmadness throughout the event. Thanks to this, it allowed participants to enjoy an innovative day with the night-time as the main attraction.
Thanks to the collaboration in this event, our Sportmadness Malaga franchise shares a good relationship with the authorities of the local council with whom they are preparing new events that will come to light in the next months.
